Two post-doctoral fellow positions are open immediately at the Med-X Research Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), Shanghai, China, in neural rehabilitation for patients with stroke, spinal cord injury (SCI), Parkinson’s disease and amputation. It is expected that the successful candidates will develop translational and computationalmethods to evaluate neurostimulation strategies for movement training, to conducttranslational research using non-invasive neurostimulation in PD, to develop minimallyinvasive neural technology for prosthetic limb, and to investigate novel optogenetic techniquefor neuromodulation in animal model. Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or Biomechanics, or Neural Physiology, or Biokinesiology. Candidates who have a strong motivation to pursue a research career in the field of human motor control and rehabilitation will be given the priority of consideration.

The research will be performed in Institute of Rehabilitation Engineering of the Med-X Research Institute, in collaboration with affiliated hospitals of Medical School of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The Med-X Research Institute is a newly established center with rehabilitation engineering as one of its main directions. It provides a dynamic environment for collaboration with a range of disciplines within the university, such as Digital Medicine,Biomedical Engineering, Systems Biology, Neuroscience and Neuroengineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nano-biomaterials, Micro-Electronics and MEMS, as well as its top clinical hospitals in Shanghai.
